Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) WIA Approved

Course Description: This program prepares students to work in long term care facilities, hospitals, and private duty. The course is a 120 hour, 12-week program, consisting of 48 hours of classroom instruction, combined with 36 hours of lab, and 36 hours of practical hands-on training. Housatonic Community College’s program prepares the students for the State of Connecticut’s Certification to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). The students will learn to deliver all aspects of personal care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements: Students are required to take the ACCUPLACER English test and place into ENG 043 & ENG 073. Students may waive the testing requirement, if they have proof of passing a college English course (unofficial transcript) OR if their SAT English score is over 500.
