Biography

Kathleen Micinilio is a professor of English in the First Year Studies Department. She has been teaching Introductory Reading and Writing classes as well as Freshman Seminar at Housatonic for nineteen years. Before teaching at Housatonic, Professor Micinilio taught at Greenwich High School and Central High School, where she coached cross country, basketball and softball. She was also an adjunct at Sacred Heart University, University of Bridgeport and UConn, Stamford. Professor Micinilio graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in English and a minor in Women’s Studies. While at UConn, she was a member of the UConn rowing team. She also attended the University of California, San Diego where she played basketball. Micinilio earned a Master’s Degree in English Education from Southern Connecticut State University. When she is not teaching, Professor Micinilio enjoys long distance swims, hiking with her dog Petey and cheering on the Patriots with her three sons and her husband.
